Garden Grove Provides Health Services at Event

GARDEN GROVE Calif. (FNP) – The city of Garden Grove held their 12th annual healthy families event on Saturday.

A grant from the County of Orange Families and Communities Together (FaCT) allowed the city’s Magnolia Park Family Resource Center (MPFRC) to provide a variety of services, including cholesterol and glucose screenings.

At Saturday’s event the MPFRC also had booths for nutrition education and health and fitness information. There were also some fun booths for face painting, games, arts and crafts and refreshments.

The goal of MPFRC is “Building Healthy Communities One Family at a Time.” Since then the agency has provided multi-language parent information, intervention/prevention services for domestic violence, family advocacy, MediCal, and Food Stamp application assistance.

Their offices at 11402 Magnolia Ave are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Magnolia park Family Resource Center can also be reached at (714) 530-7413.
