Sony pulled back the curtain on "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" at CinemaCon 2026, giving fans their first glimpse of the long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed animated trilogy. The reveal, reported by Collider, included four new images showcasing returning characters and teasing the high-stakes multiversal conflict that will drive the final chapter.
The images paint a picture of both emotional reunions and escalating danger. One shows Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, embracing his father Jefferson Davis (Bryan Tyree Henry), whom he's desperate to save from the multiversal threat posed by The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman. Another image is far less tender — Miles caught in a chokehold by his Spider-rival Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man 2099 voiced by Oscar Isaac, who now sports a menacing black-and-white suit.
Family ties run deep in the new footage. A third image features a younger Jefferson Davis alongside his estranged brother Aaron Davis, voiced by Mahershala Ali, likely set before Aaron's transformation into The Prowler. The fourth image brings back fan-favorite Spider-Punk, Hobie Brown, voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, who appears just in time to help save Jefferson from The Spot. Kaluuya's character is reportedly getting his own spin-off project currently in development.
The film arrives in a crowded moment for the Spider-Man franchise. Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is due in just a few months, while Nicolas Cage is set to lead the live-action Prime Video series "Spider-Noir." But the animated saga holds a special place among fans after "Across the Spider-Verse" ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger in 2023.
"Beyond the Spider-Verse" is slated to hit cinemas in 2027, with Moore, Steinfeld, Schwartzman, Isaac, and the rest of the ensemble cast returning to close out one of the most celebrated animated franchises in recent memory.
