Detroit coach J.B. Bickerstaff delivered a halftime speech forceful enough that his players pointed to it afterward as the moment the game turned. The Pistons went on to win Game 2 against the Orlando Magic, taking what ESPN described as an emphatic victory that reinforced their standing as the East's best team.

The win gives Detroit a 2-0 series lead in the first-round playoff matchup. The Pistons have now won back-to-back games against Orlando, and the manner of the victory — rallying after what was apparently a difficult first half — added weight to the result.

Players credited Bickerstaff's speech directly. The word "spark" appeared in their postgame descriptions of what the halftime address provided. It is the kind of moment that can define a coach's reputation in a playoff run, and Bickerstaff delivered it when his team needed it most.

The series now shifts with Detroit in control. Orlando will need to find an answer not just for the Pistons' roster but for a coaching staff that has shown it can make the right adjustments at the right moment.
