The FIFA World Cup 2026 will open with a wave of concerts across three countries, starting in Mexico City on June 11 and continuing through Los Angeles on June 12, with a separate celebration in Toronto the same day.
Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla will headline the Los Angeles ceremony at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where the United States will face Paraguay in the tournament's first match on American soil. The announcement was made Friday by FIFA.
In Mexico City, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, J Balvin, Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda, Lila Downs, Danny Ocean, and Tyla will perform at Estadio Banorte before Mexico takes on South Africa. That stadium will become the first venue in history to host three FIFA World Cups. The ceremony there begins at 11:30 a.m. local time, with gates opening four hours before kickoff.
Canada's ceremony at BMO Field in Toronto features a distinctly different lineup: Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, Elyanna, Nora Fatei, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince will perform ahead of Canada's match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All three ceremonies are scheduled to begin 90 minutes before their respective kickoffs. FIFA said more artists may be announced in the coming weeks.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino framed the ceremonies as a cultural statement as much as a sporting one. "This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become," he said in a statement. "The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation's rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country."
The 2026 tournament will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It opens June 11 in Mexico City and concludes July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which has been rebranded as the New York New Jersey Stadium for the event. U.S. host cities include Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York/New Jersey.
Tyla is the only artist appearing at two of the three ceremonies, performing in both Los Angeles and Mexico City.
