Noah Kahan's The Great Divide held the top spot on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week, according to Billboard, earning 163,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending May 7.

That figure represents a 58 percent drop from the album's opening week of 389,000 units, a steep but typical decline for a chart-topping debut. Of the 163,000 units, streaming equivalent albums made up the bulk at 137,000, equaling 139.5 million on-demand official streams. Album sales accounted for 26,000 units, while track equivalent albums comprised the remainder.

The album's sustained run at the top marks a notable milestone. The Great Divide is the first rock album to spend at least two weeks at number one in nearly three years. The last rock album to accomplish the same was Zach Bryan's self-titled set, which held the top position in September 2023. Billboard defines rock albums as those eligible for or that have charted on its Top Rock Albums chart.

Ella Langley's Dandelion, the previous chart leader, held steady at number two with 103,000 equivalent album units, down 8 percent.

Kacey Musgraves entered the top 10 for the sixth time with Middle of Nowhere debuting at number three, earning 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That figure is her best opening week ever by units. Album sales led the way at 64,500 units, enough to place the record at number one on Top Album Sales in its debut week. All six of Musgraves' top 10 albums have debuted in the top five.

Middle of Nowhere is her sixth studio album. The project features collaborations with Gregory Alan Isakov, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson and Billy Strings, and was led by the single Dry Spell, which peaked at number 15 on Hot Country Songs in March. The album was released on May 1, and Musgraves' Middle of Nowhere arena tour is set to launch following the release.

Elsewhere in the top 10, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael continued to boost the late pop star's catalog on the charts. His former number one Thriller rose from number seven to number five, while the hits collection Number Ones jumped from 13 to number six. The full May 16-dated Billboard 200 chart will be posted on Billboard's website on May 12.
