Spencer Pratt is defending himself after questions arose about whether he actually lives in the Airstream trailer he has been featuring in his Los Angeles mayoral campaign, with TMZ reporting Wednesday that the reality star has been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air.

In an interview with Harvey Levin, Pratt was pressed about a campaign ad that, in Levin's words, "made it seem that you were living in that trailer. It was a high point of the commercial. But you're at the Hotel Bel-Air."

"That is where I will live until I have a new house," Pratt said. "The Airstream is a temporary facility. A hotel is a temporary facility. Where my kids are in Santa Barbara right now is a temporary housing. This is where I live. This is where they burned my house down."

He added, "I don't live at the Hotel Bel-Air. I don't live in the Airstream. I don't live in Santa Barbara. I don't have a house. They burned it down."

Pratt said his security team advised him not to stay in the Airstream after he received threats. Much of his campaign has centered on the January wildfires that destroyed his Pacific Palisades property and what he characterizes as a failed response by Mayor Karen Bass.

The campaign received a notable boost this week. Earlier, Pratt was feted at the home of musician David Foster and singer Katharine McPhee, with McPhee performing a song with words tied to the current campaign, per video posted by One America News Network. He also drew a $1,800 contribution from Haim Saban, a longtime Democratic fundraiser and donor known for his support of Israel. Saban's wife, Cheryl, contributed the same amount, with both donations dated from last Friday. Other recent donors include Justine Bateman, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Brett Ratner, and Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group.

Following last week's mayoral debate between Bass, Councilwoman Nithya Raman, and Pratt, a new Emerson College poll showed Pratt in second place with 22% support, behind Bass at 30%. Raman drew 19%. The poll surveyed 350 voters and carries a margin of error of 5.2%.

If no candidate clears 50% in the primary, the top two finishers will advance to a general election. The primary is less than three weeks away.
