The numbers are in. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is heading toward a four-day Memorial Day opening of $97 million to $98 million, with some rival studios projecting it could still reach $100 million before the holiday weekend is done.

According to Deadline, the Jon Favreau-directed film pulled an estimated $25.5 million on Saturday alone, slightly edging out Solo: A Star Wars Story's $24.6 million on the same day. The film earned an A- CinemaScore from audiences, matching Solo's grade, and a PostTrak recommend score holding steady at 71 percent.

Previews and opening day Friday combined for $33 million. The three-day total is tracking between $81 million and $82 million, with the four-day estimate still climbing.

Disney has not confirmed international figures, but sources put overseas earnings around $69 million, which would bring the worldwide total to roughly $167 million on the high end, topping its $160 million global forecast.

The audience breakdown shows 52 percent Caucasian, 24 percent Latino and Hispanic, 10 percent Black, 8 percent Asian American, and 6 percent Native American and other. Among ticket buyers, 68 percent are Disney+ subscribers, a higher share than any other streaming service represented in the theater, with Netflix subscribers attending at 62 percent.

Premium formats are driving a significant portion of revenue. IMAX and large-format screens account for 48 percent of ticket sales so far, with IMAX alone at 16 percent and 3D pulling an 8 percent share. The film's top-performing location is AMC Disney Springs in Orlando, which has brought in close to $133,000.

Children under 12 gave the film a 95 percent positive score and a 54 percent must-see rating, a combination Deadline noted is strong enough to generate what one industry observer called the nag factor for parents.

Rival studios are not dismissing the numbers despite the Solo comparison. As one talent representative told Deadline heading into the weekend, "Sometimes, these movies make more in merchandise than the actual movie." Star Wars consistently ranks among the top five toy-selling franchises globally, generating over $1 billion annually.

The broader Memorial Day weekend is also performing well. Focus Features' Obsession posted an estimated $8.35 million Saturday on its way to a $27 million four-day total, up 26 percent. Lionsgate's Michael is tracking to a four-day figure above $26 million. Total Memorial Day weekend box office is on pace to land well above $209 million.
