The Las Vegas Aces hosted the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday night for their second meeting of the 2026 season. Tipoff was set for 8 p.m. ET at Michelob ULTRA Arena, with the game available on CBS and Paramount+.

Las Vegas entered the night at 4-1, its only loss coming in the season opener against the Phoenix Mercury on May 9. The Aces are coming off an 85-84 win over the Atlanta Dream, a game decided in the final seconds by Chelsea Gray.

The Sparks arrived at 2-3. Los Angeles beat the Mercury 97-88 on the road Thursday, making 15 three-pointers as a team and scoring 60 first-half points, which tied for the second most in an opening half in franchise history.

The night also included a pregame ceremony at Michelob ULTRA Arena to unveil the Aces' 2025 WNBA championship banner. The team already held its ring ceremony on May 9.

According to CBS Sports, the Aces' first meeting with the Sparks this season came on May 10, when Las Vegas won 105-78. Kelsey Plum scored a game-high 27 points against her former team in that contest, the 31st time she had scored over 25 points in her WNBA career. The Aces shot 43 of 69 from the field, a 62.3% rate that ranks as the second-best single-game percentage in franchise history. Five Aces players reached double figures. Chennedy Carter led with 22 points off the bench, while Jackie Young added 20 and A'ja Wilson contributed 19.

While Wilson remains the centerpiece of the Aces, Carter's start to the season has drawn attention. She is averaging a career-high 19.4 points per game while shooting a career-best 67.2% from the field through five games. Carter leads the team in steals and ranks second in scoring behind Wilson, all while coming off the bench.

Aces coach Becky Hammon described Carter as a key piece of what the team was missing. "That firepower off the bench. I'm asking her to play a really high-intensity role," Hammon said. "I'm asking her to play a really exhausting way because she is capable, and that is something that we don't have. That's something she can bring to our team that we didn't necessarily have befo

Nneka Ogwumike, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the first meeting with the Sparks, will miss Saturday's game with a hand injury.
