Brad Pitt was photographed on the Isle of Man this week as production on the Amazon MGM Studios film Isle of Man got underway. The movie stars Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson and is directed by Reid Carolin. Shooting has been underway for roughly a week on the small island nation in the Irish Sea.
Pitt is a producer on the film through his company Plan B. He joined Tatum and Carolin's Free Association and Entertainment 360's Guymon Casady and Jason Keller in producing the project. The timing of the shoot places the production directly alongside the real Isle of Man TT race, one of the most dangerous motorcycle competitions in the world.
According to Variety, Pitt mingled with fans at the race's main grandstand on Thursday and was photographed next to Italian rider Andrea Majola, who is competing in the race. A press release from Majola's team stated that Pitt "lingered for a long time around Majola's paddock area to fully immerse himself in the atmosphere of the race."
The Isle of Man TT traces its heritage back to 1907, when road racing was outlawed in England and racers found refuge on the island. A single lap of the course covers 37.7 miles across the island's road systems, with bikes reaching speeds up to 200 mph on country lanes and city streets. Since 1903, more than 150 deaths have occurred during the race or its practice sessions, including five in 2022.
The film's cast also includes Ciarán Hinds, May Calamawy, Ruaridh Mollica, and Éanna Hardwicke. Carolin wrote the script alongside Jason Keller, who also wrote Ford v Ferrari, and Bryan Johnson.
The Isle of Man project is part of a broader deal the producers struck with Amazon MGM Studios. That deal also includes a behind-the-scenes docuseries called The Greatest Race on Earth, shot during the 2024 Isle of Man TT.
