The Oura Ring 5 went on sale June 4, and the company says it is the smallest smart ring available. It is 40% smaller and lighter than previous generations, designed to be worn comfortably day and night.

According to a report by Healthline, the ring tracks more than 50 health metrics. Those include sleep timing and quality, sleep oxygen levels, average heart rate, step count, activity level, and female fertility windows and cycle phases. The new version builds on those features with upgraded precision sensors intended to improve skin contact and accuracy across more finger types and skin tones.

One of the more notable additions is GLP-1 insights, a feature aimed at people who use GLP-1 medications for weight management or type 2 diabetes. The feature brings together dosing schedules, side effects, and weight data into a single view inside the app, pairing that information with Oura's existing health insights so users can see how their medication and daily habits interact over time.

The ring also introduces a Health Radar feature with two new capabilities: blood pressure signals and nighttime breathing monitoring. Live activity tracking is another addition, allowing users to start a workout directly inside the app and view metrics in real time. The update also improves automatic activity detection for more than 40 activities, including lower-motion workouts like yoga and Pilates.

Tom Hale, CEO at Oura, described the new release in a statement. "Oura Ring 5 is a big step toward our vision of giving every body a voice. By reimagining Oura Ring 5 to be smaller and easier to wear, and pairing it with our most advanced software yet, we're making it possible for many more people to wear Oura every day — and to benefit from the personalized, predictive health insights that come with it," he said.

Battery life remains in the same range as previous generations, with 6 to 9 days between charges. The ring is waterproof to 100 meters. It comes in six finishes and starts at $399.
