Two of Mexico's most prominent young music stars have ended their relationship. Peso Pluma and Kenia Os posted a joint statement to Instagram Stories on Saturday confirming the split.
"Through this message, we want to share that we have decided to end our relationship, which comes to a close with love, respect and on the best terms," the statement reads. "We have always prioritized our privacy and integrity as people, and we deeply appreciate the love we've received throughout this time. We ask that you respect our decision and privacy during this personal moment. Thank you, Kenia & Hassan."
Hassan is Peso Pluma's given name. Neither artist added anything beyond the statement.
According to Billboard, the two were first publicly linked through their musical collaboration before their romance became known. The song that brought them together professionally was "Tommy & Pamela," which appeared on Peso Pluma's 2024 album Éxodo. The title of the track references the famously turbulent relationship between Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. The flirtatious song arrived months before the pair went public as a couple.
"Tommy & Pamela" debuted at No. 40 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart and later climbed to No. 20. Éxodo was a significant record for Peso Pluma, showcasing his range beyond música mexicana during a push to broaden his audience.
Kenia referenced the collaboration publicly during Billboard Latin Music Week 2024, saying that working on the song had led to new opportunities to collaborate with Mexican artists like Peso Pluma.
No further details about the circumstances of the breakup were shared by either artist.
