Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 got an unexpected announcement at this weekend's Summer Game Fest: a crossover collaboration between Wuthering Waves and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the hit 2022 Netflix anime based on the game.
According to Screen Rant, starting June 8, 2026, players can claim the Rebecca 5-Star Resonator for free as part of the newest Wuthering Waves content update. The offer is available for a limited time.
Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play open-world action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players take on the role of a character called Rover and recruit powerful allies known as Resonators. The crossover update introduces two new Resonators from the Edgerunners anime: Rebecca and Lucy. Rebecca is the one available to claim at no cost as of today. Both characters are described as beloved figures from the anime series.
The announcement comes at a time when new official Cyberpunk 2077 content has become increasingly rare. CD Projekt Red released a surprise Update 2.3 last year, but DLC and content updates for the game are largely considered finished. The studio is currently focused on multiple other projects, including The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, The Witcher 4, and a remake of the original Witcher game. The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, known internally as Project Orion, is in development but no release window has been announced, despite recent reports that the development team has grown.
