Serena and Venus Williams will play together again at Wimbledon this summer, the tournament announced Tuesday. The sisters received a wild card invitation for the women's doubles event, which begins July 1, 2026.
The last time the two competed together at the All England Club was in 2016. Since then, both have played sparingly, though Serena has recently returned to competition. This will be the third tournament on her comeback tour, following a doubles debut last week at the Queen's Club Championships with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko. She is also set to play doubles at the Berlin Open this week alongside Karolina Muchova.
Venus Williams turns 46 on Wednesday and has played intermittently in recent years.
Together, the Williams sisters have won 14 major doubles titles. Six of those came at Wimbledon. They also won Olympic gold together at the 2012 London Games, held at the All England Club. Individually, Serena holds 23 grand slam singles titles and Venus holds seven.
Serena is the only player since Steffi Graf to complete a career Golden Slam in singles, and the only player to have also accomplished it in doubles, according to ABC News.
The 2026 Wimbledon Championships run from Monday, June 29 through Sunday, July 12. Ladies' doubles play begins Wednesday, July 1.
