Gilmore Girls will leave Netflix in the United States on June 30, 2026, ending a 12-year run on the platform. The show, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, originally aired on The WB from October 5, 2000, to May 9, 2006, before its seventh and final season ran on The CW from September 26, 2006, to May 15, 2007. It arrived on Netflix in its entirety seven years later and later became available in international territories in 2016.
Collider reports that international subscribers will not be affected for the foreseeable future. The removal in the United States takes effect July 1.
The four-part Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, will also depart the platform, though not until November. That series is set ten years after the original finale and consists of four episodes, each running between 88 and 102 minutes, with each episode representing one of the four seasons of the year.
Netflix acknowledged the departure on X with a reference to one of the show's most recognized quotes. "It's a show? It's a lifestyle. It's a religion. We are sorry to say that Gilmore Girls Seasons 1β7 will be leaving Netflix in the US on June 30," the post read. "Raising a cup of coffee to every fan who visited Stars Hollow with us."
The original series ran for seven seasons and became significantly more popular after arriving on streaming. Palladino served as showrunner for the first six seasons. No information has been announced about where the series will be available after it leaves Netflix.
