The 50th annual Macy's 4th of July fireworks special is shaping up to be the biggest one yet, with a lineup that spans country, hip-hop, pop, and rap across a two-hour live broadcast.
Post Malone, Noah Kahan, Salt-N-Pepa, Bebe Rexha, Shaboozey, and Blake Shelton are all scheduled to perform in New York City. The show will air live on NBC and stream simultaneously on Peacock from 8 to 10 p.m. EST. According to Billboard, the fireworks display itself will feature 85,000 shells in 30 colors shot from six barges, along with a new laser show mounted on the Brooklyn Bridge.
The 27-minute fireworks show will have a score produced by Grammy-winning composer Jason Howland. The Voice season 29 winner Alexia Jayy is also scheduled to perform during the fireworks display. The broadcast will air live to tape in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones, and a Spanish-language simulcast will air on Telemundo starting at 8 p.m. EST.
Will Coss, the show's executive producer, said in a statement that "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks delivers the largest Independence Day celebration in the nation through a show-stopping spectacle that reminds us of the power of connection and shared experience." He added that the production team is "proud to honor our 50th Fireworks with an expanded show, never-before-seen effects and music's biggest stars for a truly unforgettable celebration."
NBC described the soundtrack to the display as "inspired by the enduring spirit of America" and said it "reimagines the iconic sounds of more than 50 years of beloved summer classics."
This year's broadcast also lands on a historically significant date. July 4, 2026 marks America's 250th anniversary, and celebrations are planned across the country. America's Block Party at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum will feature Chris Stapleton and the Smashing Pumpkins. The White House's Salute to America 250 celebration and fireworks display is scheduled for the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The Macy's special airs July 4 on NBC and Peacock.
