Olivia Miles had the worst shooting night of her young professional career on Friday, but the Minnesota Lynx still found a way to win.
Miles went 1-for-10 from the field and finished with seven points, both season lows, as the Lynx beat the Golden State Valkyries 81-75, according to ESPN. Despite the off night from their rookie guard, Minnesota came away with the victory and looked at the performance as something to build on.
The Lynx called Miles's struggles a tremendous growth point for the first-year player. Miles had drawn attention early in the season for her play, making the poor shooting night stand out more sharply against what she had shown before.
The final score was 81-75 in favor of Minnesota.
