Five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson announced Monday that he will reveal his college commitment on July 1. The announcement will come during the Rivals Summer Signing Day Show.

Dobson, who is from Cornelius, North Carolina, is choosing between Texas A&M, Auburn, Michigan, and South Carolina. According to Yahoo Sports, he has completed official visits to all four programs.

He is ranked as the No. 11 overall player and No. 3 cornerback in the Rivals industry ranking, making him the highest-rated uncommitted defensive player in the 2027 class. A commitment to any of his four finalists would represent a significant addition.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko extended Dobson a scholarship offer in September of 2024, and the Aggies have been pursuing him for nearly two years. If Dobson picks Texas A&M, the program would have six five-star prospects committed in the 2027 class. Those six would cover offensive tackle, safety, edge, interior offensive line, linebacker, and cornerback.

The Miami Hurricanes currently have the second-most five-star commits in the 2027 cycle with three. A Dobson commitment to the Aggies would increase their lead considerably.

Texas A&M's defensive back group in the 2027 class is already deep regardless of where Dobson lands. Five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, four-star safety JayQuan Snell, four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, three-star cornerback Hakim Frampton, and three-star athletes Loia Valade and Errol Kerns are all already committed to the program.

A Dobson commitment to College Station would give Texas A&M what could be considered one of the best recruiting classes in program history.
