Morocco enters Wednesday's match with Haiti in Atlanta already knowing what is at stake. A win or a draw secures advancement out of Group C. A win, combined with the right result between Brazil and Scotland, could give them the group title.
Haiti has been eliminated. The team dropped both of its first two matches and cannot advance regardless of Wednesday's result.
Kickoff is at 6 p.m. ET. According to CBS Sports, FanDuel Sportsbook lists Morocco at -600 on the 90-minute money line, Haiti at +1500, and a draw at +600. The over/under for total goals is set at 3.5.
SportsLine analyst Jon Eimer, who has gone 21-12-2 on World Cup picks entering Wednesday, is focusing his analysis on the scoring side of the match. He points to Morocco's incentive to run up the score given that goal differential could matter later in the tournament. "There will be no mercy in a match like this with Morocco having their foot on the gas for 90 minutes, and their strikers Ismael Saibari and Brahim Diaz expected to play to as close as 90 minutes as possible," Eimer said.
Haiti, having nothing to lose, could take more attacking risks and look for chances on the counter-attack. That dynamic, Eimer argues, could push the total goals higher than expected.
Morocco beat Scotland in their opening match and drew against Brazil. The draw against Brazil kept them from clinching the group outright but left them well-positioned heading into the final matchday.
The Atlanta venue hosts what is effectively a dead rubber for one side and a final tuneup for the other before the knockout rounds begin.
