Zach Lowe Says He Would Bet Jaylen Brown Leaves Boston Celtics This Offseason

The NBA analyst made the prediction after Boston's failed attempt to trade Brown for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Jaylen Brown's future with the Boston Celtics is in question, and at least one prominent NBA analyst believes Brown will be playing elsewhere when the 2026-27 season tips off.

Ringer podcast host Zach Lowe addressed the situation on a recent episode of his show, making his position on the subject direct. According to Yahoo Sports, Lowe's comments came in the wake of Boston's failed attempt to acquire Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, a pursuit that involved dangling Brown as a trade piece.

"It feels like the toothpaste is too far out of the tube with Jaylen Brown," Lowe said on the Zach Lowe Show.

He did not stop there. Lowe said that if forced to bet on whether Brown would be on the Celtics' roster at the start of next season, he would bet no.

"If you ask me right now," Lowe said, "I don't think Jaylen Brown starts the season with the Boston Celtics next year."

Lowe acknowledged the prediction could be wrong. "That could end up being wrong. I'm not saying that definitively, I'm saying if you made me bet, yes or no, is Jaylen Brown a Celtic next year, I'm betting no."

Brown is a Georgia native who played college basketball at California. He has spent his entire NBA career in Boston. The Celtics have not made any public comment on their plans for the forward.
