Free agent guard Norman Powell agreed to a two-year, 45 million dollar deal with the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The deal adds a proven scorer to a Bulls team working to retool during the offseason.

Powell, 33, spent the past several seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he established himself as a reliable offensive option off the bench and as a starter. He averaged more than 23 points per game during the 2024-25 season. The Bulls signing him signals an attempt to add veteran experience and scoring to their backcourt.

The Bulls have been in a period of transition after moving on from several long-tenured players. Powell gives them a wing scorer with playoff experience and a track record of efficiency from the perimeter.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks made a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, acquiring seven-footer Santi Aldama in exchange for AJ Johnson, a 2030 first-round pick, and a pair of future second-round picks, according to ESPN. Aldama, 23, gives Dallas size and shooting at the forward position. He has shown the ability to stretch the floor from the power forward spot, a skill that fits alongside Dallas star Luka Doncic.

The Grizzlies, in turn, add a young guard in Johnson along with draft capital as they continue to build around Ja Morant and their young core.

Both moves reflect active NBA offseason activity as teams work to adjust rosters ahead of training camp.
