Kentucky basketball has extended an offer to NaVorro Bowman Jr., the son of former San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman. The younger Bowman announced the offer on his Instagram page, according to Yahoo Sports.
Bowman Jr. is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound point guard out of California. He is rated four stars by 247Sports, which ranks him as the No. 21 overall player in the 2027 class and the No. 6 point guard nationally. He is averaging 20.8 points and 3.7 assists in Nike EYBL play.
The offer makes Bowman the 19th member of the 2027 class to receive an offer from head coach Mark Pope and the Kentucky staff. The Wildcats have been active at the point guard position, having already extended offers to six 2027 prospects at that spot. The push comes after Kentucky dealt with back-to-back years of injury problems at the position.
Kentucky's 2027 recruiting cycle has already included some near-misses. Marcus Spears Jr., the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 class, reclassified to 2026 and committed to Texas, ESPN reported. Spears told ESPN on Thursday of his decision to join the Longhorns for the upcoming college basketball season instead of remaining in the 2027 class. Kentucky had been among the programs tracking him.
The Wildcats did land Ryan Hampton in the 2027 class and are continuing to build out their board. Bowman Jr. represents one of the higher-profile names to receive an offer in this cycle so far.
No commitment from Bowman Jr. has been announced. His recruitment is ongoing.
