Florida State has added Tom Herman to its coaching staff for the 2026 season, according to a source who confirmed the hire to ESPN.
Herman brings head coaching experience at both the college and NFL levels. He previously served as head coach at Houston, where he built the program into a Group of Five contender, and at Texas, where he went 32-18 over four seasons before being let go in January 2021. He later had a brief stint in the NFL.
The Seminoles are building toward a return to national relevance after several turbulent seasons. Adding a coach with Herman's background gives the program another experienced voice on staff. Further details about his specific role were not immediately available.
