Prime Video has filled two more key roles in its adaptation of Chloe Walsh's Boys of Tommen. Jamie Schneider will play Patrick Feely and James Craven will play Pierce O'Neill, according to Variety.
Several parent roles have also been cast. Eoin Macken joins as Teddy Lynch, Róisín Gallagher plays Marie Lynch, and Amy Huberman takes on the role of Edel Kavanagh.
The series follows a forbidden romance at an Irish private school between Johnny Kavanagh, a star rugby player on the verge of going pro, and Shannon Lynch, a shy new girl. Johnny is played by Conor Sánchez and Shannon by Nancy Surridge.
The show's synopsis describes both central characters as carrying secrets. "Both teenagers are hiding secrets; Johnny, a potentially career-ending injury, and Shannon, a troubled and violent homelife," it reads. "Through their secret and highly charged connection, the two teens from opposite worlds battle against the odds and find a way to save each other."
The supporting cast is extensive. It also includes James O'Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan, and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry.
Brendan Canty directs the Ballylaggin-set series, which is currently in production. The adaptation was written by Poppy Cogan, who also worked on A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. It draws from the first two novels in Walsh's series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13. Casting is by Carla Stronge.
Boys of Tommen is produced by Wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services. Executive producers include Cogan, Walsh, Wiip's Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Sean Flanagan, Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman and Annika Patton, and Drama Republic's Greg Brenman and Deena Butt. Ingrid Goodwin serves as series producer.
Variety noted the YA adaptation follows in the footsteps of other Prime Video romance series including Off Campus and Every Year After.
