Matty Healy is days away from getting married, and the cameras were already rolling.
Healy, the frontman of The 1975, and his fiancée Gabbriette, whose real name is Gabriella Bechtel, were spotted by paparazzi on July 17 in Los Angeles as they rehearsed their wedding ceremony. Both dressed in black, the couple practiced a romantic dip-kiss at an outdoor location, according to Billboard. TMZ shared footage of the rehearsal, along with a separate video of Healy driving a Rolls-Royce convertible with Gabbriette in the passenger seat.
When someone approached and asked about the wedding week, Healy was relaxed. "Hey, man," he said with a wave. "We're not done yet. We just started." Gabbriette added, "We've got like 10 more days of celebrations."
Earlier in the week, Healy was celebrated at a Matty Healy-themed bachelor party that featured live entertainment from a 1975 cover band called 9075. Healy joined them onstage, performing alongside the faux-Healy during the song "The Sound" and crowd-surfing to "Sex," with his bandmates present at the event.
The couple's engagement was first reported in June 2024. Gabbriette announced it by posting a photo of a black gem ring on her finger with the caption "MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT," a reference to Charli xcx, who at the time was engaged to The 1975 drummer George Daniel. Charli xcx and Daniel married in 2025.
Healy's mother, Denise Welch, confirmed the engagement on her UK talk show Loose Women. "I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. Black diamond [ring], he had it made for her. I couldn't be more thrilled. We couldn't be happier — she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law," she said at the time.
Healy's most high-profile relationship before Gabbriette was with Taylor Swift, who recently had her own wedding in New York, two weeks before Healy's planned ceremony in Hollywood.
On the music side, details on The 1975's next album remain unconfirmed. Titles including God Has Entered My Body and DOGS have both circulated, and Healy has said the band has recorded two new albums. He recently contributed vocals to Tiny Habits' song "Anything He Was" and was photographed in the studio with Phoebe Bridgers, whose album Lost Weekend arrives August 14.
