The Los Angeles Rams are entering the 2026 NFL season with what Yahoo Sports has described as the most impressive pass-rushing unit in the league, at least on paper. The addition of Myles Garrett to a defensive line already featuring Kobie Turner has drawn significant attention heading into the year.
Both players were recently named to Pro Football Network's list of the 100 best players in the NFL. Garrett ranked third, behind only quarterbacks Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Turner came in at No. 66.
Turner's ranking reflects a rise that was far from guaranteed when he entered the league. He was not invited to the NFL Combine before the 2023 draft. The Rams selected him anyway, and he has not missed a single regular season game in his three years with the team.
"It's hard to imagine that Kobie Turner wasn't even invited to the NFL Combine heading into the league in 2023," wrote PFN's Jacob Infante. "Not only was he an impact player from the moment the Rams drafted him, but he's been a steady force along their interior defensive line who hasn't missed a single regular season game in his three years with the team."
Infante continued: "With 24.0 sacks since 2023, Turner's total is the second-highest among all defensive tackles since he entered the league. He's ranked in the top ten in PFN DT Impact Scoring each of his last two seasons, most recently finishing seventh in 2025. He's in the last year of his rookie deal and feels primed for a massive contract in the open market."
Garrett, the current Defensive Player of the Year, holds the record for single-season sacks. His arrival gives the Rams a combination at the line that opposing offenses have not faced before. The Rams also made improvements to their secondary, giving the entire defensive unit additional depth.
Turner is playing the final year of his rookie contract. His performance this season, alongside Garrett, will directly shape his market value when he becomes eligible for a new deal.
Current NFL MVP Matthew Stafford was ranked 14th on the same Pro Football Network list, reflecting the offensive firepower the Rams also bring into the season.
