The New York Mets activated outfielder Luis Robert Jr. from the injured list Monday, ending an absence of nearly three months caused by a back issue, according to ESPN.
Robert's return gives the Mets a healthy outfield option after a long stretch without him. The back injury had kept him off the field since late April.
The Mets transaction came the same day the Baltimore Orioles moved in the opposite direction. Catcher Adley Rutschman was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to left wrist inflammation, ESPN reported. Rutschman is one of Baltimore's most important position players, and his absence will test the depth of an Orioles roster already navigating a competitive American League East race.
No timetable was given for Rutschman's return.
