Simone Biles was back in a hospital recently for a procedure, more than a month after she said she had almost died during a separate medical emergency.
Biles shared a selfie on her Instagram Story showing herself and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, at the hospital. She was wearing a hospital gown and cap. Owens stood beside her. Biles posted white hearts and happy-crying emojis with the picture and noted that Owens had brought her to the appointment on his birthday.
Biles has not released specifics about what caused the earlier medical emergency. She described it only as an experience that could have ended very differently. Fox News reported on her original post about that episode.
"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life, especially since Jonathan was in [Indianapolis] for practices. I've been in bed resting this week. I'll explain sooner or later, but [shoutout] to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers," she wrote at the time.
Owens is a safety for the Indianapolis Colts. He and Biles married in 2023. His NFL career has at times required the couple to spend time apart. Owens entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and has played for five teams, including the Houston Texans, the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears, and now the Colts.
Biles and Owens met in 2019 while he was with the Houston Texans. The couple lives in Texas, where they have built a home together.
Biles has not said when she plans to give more details about her initial medical emergency or what the recent procedure involved.
