WWE SummerSlam 2026 is expected to feature approximately 12 to 13 matches spread across two nights at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on August 2 and 3. That figure comes from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
For the second straight year, SummerSlam will run across two nights. The match total would represent a significant increase from most of WWE's recent premium live events, which have typically featured five or fewer matches. The format follows a similar pattern to WrestleMania 42 in April, which featured seven matches on Saturday and six on Sunday.
The current confirmed card includes CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, and Liv Morgan defending the Women's World Championship against Iyo Sky. Also on the card: a Hell in a Cell match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, a five-way ladder match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship featuring Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green and a fifth competitor to be determined, and a No. 1 Contender's match between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn, with the winner earning a future shot at the WWE Title.
Additional matches include Penta defending the Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable, Trick Williams defending the United States Championship against Baron Corbin, The Bloodline facing LA Knight, Royce Keys and Solo Sikoa, The Bella Twins and Paige taking on Fatal Influence, Gunther versus Nick Aldis, and Danhausen versus Dominik Mysterio.
The card has shifted considerably from what WWE originally planned. Lesnar was expected to face Gunther at SummerSlam, but a last-minute move to SmackDown triggered a chain of changes that also affected Roman Reigns' title storyline. A separate injury to WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley forced further adjustments, scrapping her planned title defense along with Stratton's United States Championship match against newcomer Blake Monroe and a singles match between Cargill and Flair.
WrestleVotes Radio also noted that Austin Theory and Bron Breakker of The Vision could potentially defend the World Tag Team Championship at the event if space allows. Based on recent Raw storylines, Otis and Akira Tozawa are considered the likeliest challengers.
SummerSlam takes place August 2 and 3 in Minneapolis.
