A YouTuber named Yung Mooch captured Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill on a Venice Beach film set last week, posting footage that quickly went viral and confirmed the two comedy veterans are working together again for the first time since 2016.
In the video, posted to YouTube on July 24 and titled "Los Angeles is Falling Apart...," Mooch ran up to Rogen and Hill while they sat on scooters between takes. Both actors appeared visibly annoyed as Mooch approached and went in for a fist bump with Hill.
"No, we're working," Rogen is heard saying in the clip as Mooch walks up.
Mooch then asked Hill for advice for anyone trying to make it in Los Angeles. Hill shrugged before responding, "Enjoy your life. Be a kind person."
Rogen was less patient. When Mooch turned to him with the same question, Rogen said, "I would say don't fuck with people as they're trying to make their show. That's probably not a good idea." He then added, after continued pressure from Mooch, "Be yourself," before turning to Hill and laughing.
Mooch continued pressing Rogen for additional advice before finally walking away. "Look at this y'all. We just caught a major movie production. This is Los Angeles right here," he told his camera.
According to The Wrap, Mooch has more than 558,000 subscribers on YouTube and 14,800 followers on Twitch, and his video format involves interviewing people across various Los Angeles neighborhoods.
The nature of the project Rogen and Hill were filming has not been officially confirmed. Deadline reported that Rogen has recently been filming Season 2 of Apple TV's The Studio, and that his Apple series Platonic was renewed for a third season in December. When photos of the two filming together surfaced earlier this month, speculation centered on The Studio, but Hill's casting in that project has not been officially announced. Deadline said it reached out to Apple for comment.
The two actors first appeared together in the 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin. They went on to share the screen in Knocked Up and Superbad, both in 2007, and in This Is the End in 2013. Their last joint project was Sony's animated adult comedy Sausage Party in 2016.
