Caitlin Fryers is one win away from a medal at the Commonwealth Games after a dominant performance in the 51kg flyweight round of 16 on Monday morning.
Fryers, according to Yahoo Sports, controlled the fight from the opening bell against Zinnat Ferdous of Bangladesh at the SEC Centre. The bout was further decided in the second round when Ferdous was docked a point for persistent holding.
Fryers competes for Team NI and serves as co-captain of their boxing squad. She trains out of the Immaculata club and won a European silver medal in 2022.
In the quarter-finals on Wednesday, she will face the winner of Monday evening's bout between India's Sakshi Chaudhary and Botswana's Lethabo Modukanele.
