The 12th annual Intermediate 50/70 Baseball World Series is four days into its eight-day run in Livermore, California, with four games scheduled Wednesday at Max Baer Park.
The tournament, reported on by The Sporting News, began Sunday, August 2, and runs through Sunday, August 9. All games stream live on the ESPN app. No national television broadcast is available.
The Intermediate Division features players ages 11 to 13, one level above Little League's Majors division and one step below Junior League. The name of the division reflects its field dimensions: a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths, larger than a standard Little League diamond but smaller than the 60-foot-6-inch mound distance and 90-foot base paths used at higher levels.
Through the first three days of competition, Asia-Pacific has been dominant. The region opened with a 10-0 shutout of Australia on Sunday, then edged Latin America 6-5 on Monday. Europe-Africa has also been a strong presence, defeating Canada 4-2 in the opening round, rolling past Australia 11-1 on Tuesday to eliminate the Australians, and handling Puerto Rico in an earlier matchup. Puerto Rico came back strong, however, beating Europe-Africa 15-2 on Monday before Europe-Africa recovered with that dominant win Tuesday.
Australia was the first team eliminated from the tournament, falling to Europe-Africa on Tuesday. The Southwest region was also eliminated Tuesday, losing to Southeast 7-5.
Wednesday's schedule sets up the later rounds of bracket play. Europe-Africa faces the winner of Tuesday's Canada-Latin America game at noon. Southeast takes on the winner of Tuesday's East-California D57 matchup at 3 p.m. Asia-Pacific meets Puerto Rico at 6 p.m. West faces Central at 10 p.m. All times are Eastern.
West has been one of the tournament's most prolific offensive teams. The region posted a 16-6 win over California D57 on Monday. Central has been steady, winning tight games against East 3-2 on Sunday and Southwest 7-5 on Monday.
Last year's champion, Flor Amarillo Little League of Valencia, Venezuela, defeated Central East Maui Little League of Wailuku, Hawaii in the final to give Latin America its first Intermediate 50/70 title. Neither team returned for 2026.
The championship round is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, with the international and U.S. championship games both taking place that day. The international championship is set for 4 p.m. and the U.S. championship for 8 p.m., both streaming on the ESPN app.
