Sevilla are closing in on a deal to sign Scottish striker Robbie Ure from Swedish club IK Sirius for £7.9 million.
According to BBC Sport, the 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at the Spanish club on Monday and is prepared to sign a five-year contract at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Ure has attracted interest from across Europe after a remarkable run of form in Sweden. He has scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 20 matches across all competitions this season alone. Since joining Sirius a year ago, he has totaled 31 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances. His 15 league goals this season have helped push Sirius to the top of the Allsvenskan table, where the club holds a commanding 13-point lead at the midway point of the season.
His career path to this point has been unconventional. Ure began at Rangers in Scotland, where he scored once in three appearances, then moved to Belgian club Anderlecht in 2023, where he made only one senior appearance. It was the move to Sirius in Sweden that changed his trajectory entirely.
The striker holds eligibility for both Scotland and Ukraine and has represented Scotland at the under-19 level. He has not yet committed to a senior national team. Last month, he told BBC Scotland that his preference is to wait for a call-up to the Scottish national team, known as the Tartan Army.
If the deal is completed Monday following the medical, Ure would move to La Liga and lead the attack for Sevilla, who have offered him the starting role at the club.
