The Jonas Brothers will headline the halftime show at the NFL Melbourne Game on Sept. 10, the league announced on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The game pits the Los Angeles Rams against the San Francisco 49ers in what will be the first-ever regular season NFL game played in Australia.
Kickoff is set for 8:35 p.m. ET at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The game will broadcast exclusively on Netflix in the United States, according to Billboard, while the halftime show will also air live in Australia on the Seven Network.
"We couldn't be more excited to perform at halftime during the NFL's first-ever regular season game in Australia," the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. "Playing at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of such passionate Australian fans is an incredible honor. We can't wait to be part of this historic moment and celebrate with everyone in the stadium and watching around the world."
Tim Tubito, the NFL's senior director of global game presentation and entertainment, said the choice of act was deliberate. "The Jonas Brothers are global entertainers whose music connects across generations, making them the ideal artists to help us celebrate this historic game in Melbourne," he said. "We look forward to delivering a memorable halftime performance for our fans in Australia and those watching around the world."
This is not the first NFL halftime appearance for the group. The New Jersey natives performed on Thanksgiving 2022 in Dallas during the Cowboys' victory over the New York Giants. They also appeared during the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City.
Australian fans will have additional ways to mark the occasion. The NFL Kickoff Festival runs Sept. 10 through Sept. 12 at Melbourne Park and will include a watch party for the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots Super Bowl rematch.
Before they touch down in Australia, the Jonas Brothers will finish their Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour with three consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden in New York on Aug. 20, 21, and 22. The trio is also bringing their Hey Jonas! podcast to Hulu and Disney+ beginning this Friday.
The Melbourne game is part of a broader international push by the NFL. The league also has regular season games scheduled this season in London, Madrid, Mexico City, Munich, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro.
