Detroit responded when Luke Altmyer connected with Tarik Black for a 24-yard touchdown pass. Altmyer then ran for the successful two-point conversion, cutting the Bengals' lead to 16-14.
The Bengals held on for the victory, improving to 1-0 in the preseason while Detroit fell to 0-1. The game drew 62,795 fans.
The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Houston Texans 27-7 at NRG Stadium. Houston struck first when Jared Wayne caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Davis Mills in the opening quarter.
Los Angeles answered and eventually pulled away. Cameron Dicker made two field goals and an extra point for the Chargers. Amar Johnson rushed for two touchdowns and also scored on a two-point conversion.
Trey Lance threw for 164 yards and one interception for Los Angeles. Mills completed 9 of 15 passes for 82 yards and one touchdown for Houston. The announced attendance was 67,655.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Green Bay Packers 28-9 at Acrisure Stadium. Green Bay kicker Trey Smack made three field goals, including a 58-yarder in the second quarter.

The Tennessee Titans defeated the San Francisco 49ers 19-13 at Levi's Stadium. Tony Pollard opened the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run for Tennessee in the first quarter. San Francisco answered when Patrick Taylor Jr. scored on a 1-yard run to tie the game at 7-7.
Joey Slye made four field goals for Tennessee, connecting from 39, 55, 53 and 58 yards. His late 58-yard field goal helped secure the victory. Eddy Piñeiro made two field goals for San Francisco.
