A trailer dropped Thursday for Rolling Loud, an upcoming comedy film set inside the Miami hip-hop festival, starring Owen Wilson, Travis Scott and Sexyy Red.
According to Billboard, the film is directed by Jeremy Garelick and was produced by Rolling Loud and Live Nation. It hits U.S. theaters on October 2. The cast also includes Matt Rife, Christine Ko, Ski Mask the Slump God, Ty Dolla $ign and Christian Convery, who plays Wilson's 13-year-old son.
The plot follows Wilson's character as a father trying to be the cool dad. He agrees to take his son to Rolling Loud, and the situation spirals when he loses the boy during a bathroom trip in a crowd of 60,000 festival-goers. The search takes Wilson backstage, where he encounters Sexyy Red and Travis Scott.
Wilson ends up onstage during Scott's headlining set. That particular scene was filmed during Scott's actual set at Rolling Loud Miami in December 2024. The trailer includes a moment where Sexyy Red tells Wilson, "You're the guy on the big screen that all the security's looking for. You jumped off a Ferris wheel, right?" Wilson's character responds, "No, I threw someone off a Ferris wheel."
Garelick said the idea for the film came from a real experience. He briefly lost track of his son at a Rolling Loud festival in the past. "The fact that we had this experience together, it bonded us and it really brought us together," he told People. "It gave us those inside jokes, those secrets that we can't tell anybody. And then to put it into a movie that's coming out all over the world, it's just incredible. I think parents should take their kids and enjoy it."
Rolling Loud's only 2026 U.S. festival took place in Orlando in May, headlined by Don Toliver, Ken Carson and Playboi Carti.
