Fans of Vin Diesel's long-running sci-fi franchise have until August 31 to watch the Riddick films on Netflix.
According to Collider, Netflix announced in the last week that all three films in the series will be leaving the platform at the end of the month. That includes Pitch Black from 2000, The Chronicles of Riddick from 2004, and the 2013 film Riddick. No new streaming home has been announced for any of the three titles.
The 2013 Riddick, the most recent entry, co-stars Karl Urban, known for The Boys, and Katee Sackhoff from The Mandalorian. The film carried a reported budget of $38 million.
Diesel is best known today as Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious franchise, a role he is confirmed to reprise in Fast Forever, currently scheduled for release on March 27, 2028. His co-star Alan Ritchson has cast doubt on whether the film will meet that deadline. Outside of that franchise, Diesel voiced Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films but did not perform the motion capture work for the character.
His last live-action role outside of those two franchises was in the 2020 superhero film Bloodshot, which grossed only $39 million globally against a $45 million budget. That film is currently streaming on Hulu.
The Riddick character has maintained a dedicated following across more than two decades. For fans who want to revisit the series or watch it for the first time, August 31 is the last day to do so on Netflix.
