DocGo Moves to Acquire Virtual Care Company Hicuity Health

The deal would expand DocGo's telehealth capabilities by adding Hicuity's remote patient monitoring and virtual care services.

Patients were individually shown to a private clinic space, accompanied by their informal caregivers (if present), where they were provided a description and demonstration of a prototype mHealth system with a presentation of the specific steps that were required to utilize the device.

DocGo, a mobile health services company, has announced plans to acquire Hicuity Health, a virtual care provider, according to MobiHealthNews.

The acquisition would bring Hicuity's remote patient monitoring and virtual care services under the DocGo umbrella. Hicuity specializes in providing clinical support to hospitals and health systems through remote technology, allowing clinicians to monitor and treat patients without being physically present.

DocGo operates across multiple areas of mobile and on-demand health care. Adding a virtual care platform would expand the company's reach into hospital-based remote services, a segment of the health care market that grew rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic and has continued to develop since.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in available reporting. The acquisition is subject to standard regulatory review. No closing date has been announced publicly.

The move reflects continued consolidation in the telehealth sector, where companies have been acquiring specialized platforms to build out broader service offerings. Virtual care companies that focus on inpatient monitoring have attracted particular interest as hospitals look to extend clinical oversight without adding to on-site staffing costs.

Hicuity Health has positioned itself as a partner to health systems rather than a direct-to-consumer service. That model, which keeps it integrated into existing hospital workflows, may make it an attractive addition for a company like DocGo that already works with health systems and municipalities on mobile care delivery.

No leadership changes at either company have been announced in connection with the acquisition.
