Jeremy Pargo hit a game-winning three-pointer at 40 years old, and it sent the Boston Ball Hogs to their first-ever BIG3 championship game.
The shot, which came at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Aug. 15, beat the Chicago Triplets 50-47 in the semifinal round. Pargo finished that game with 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Hours later, the league named him its Most Valuable Player for the 2026 season, according to a report by Yahoo Sports.
The Ball Hogs will face the Dallas Power in the title game on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. PT on CBS and BET.
Pargo, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound guard, capped a dominant summer in the 3-on-3 league founded by rapper Ice Cube. He led the entire BIG3 in total points with 180, assists with 35, three-pointers made with 20, and four-pointers made with seven. That seven four-pointers figure set a single-season record in league history.
He is also a three-time BIG3 all-star. The MVP award was not his first of the year. Earlier this summer, Pargo competed for Grindavik of the Urvalsdeild Karla in Iceland, where he won the Icelandic League championship and earned MVP honors there as well. In the championship-clinching game over Tindastoll, he scored 48 points on 10-of-16 shooting from three-point range.
Pargo grew up in Chicago, Illinois and played collegiately at Gonzaga, where he won the 2007-08 West Coast Conference Player of the Year award. His professional career has stretched 17 years across the globe, including stints in Israel, Russia, China, Italy, Lebanon, and Spain, along with three seasons in the NBA.
The title game on Aug. 22 will be the Ball Hogs' first appearance in a BIG3 championship.
