Pokemon's 30th anniversary celebrations added another item to an already crowded lineup this week, with the announcement of a collaboration with Polaroid that includes themed instant cameras and film packs.
The collection features three camera models. The standout for Pokemon fans is the Sylveon Edition, which draws from the Fairy-type Eeveelution's signature pink, white, and blue color scheme and comes with a matching strap. A Pikachu Edition features Pikachu-inspired artwork and an attached male Pikachu tail. The third model is a classic Pokemon Edition designed around the red-and-white colors of a Poke Ball.
Polaroid is also releasing special film packs with Pokemon-themed frames. Characters featured in the frames include Charmander, Snorlax, and Espeon. Each pack includes a collectible dark slide with a Pokemon silhouette, with Flareon, Squirtle, Mew, and Umbreon among the designs confirmed in the official announcement. Preorders for the cameras and film open Tuesday, August 25, through Polaroid and the official Pokemon Center store, according to Screen Rant. Worldwide shipping is expected to begin September 29.
The Polaroid collaboration joins a long list of announcements tied to the franchise's 30th year. Earlier in 2026, Pokemon rereleased FireRed and LeafGreen. A massive Pokemon and Adidas footwear collaboration is set to arrive in September, with shoes inspired by Pikachu, Charizard, Gengar, Mewtwo, and Rayquaza. The Pokemon Trading Card Game is also releasing a 30th Celebration expansion on September 16, featuring an all-foil card lineup and 30 different Pikachu rare cards.
The franchise's largest announcement of the year came with the reveal of Pokemon Winds and Waves, the next mainline entry in the series. The game is set in a new open world of windswept islands and vast oceans and is scheduled to launch worldwide on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
