Police in Worcester, Massachusetts issued an arrest warrant Friday for Karen Solomon, 58, in connection with the death of her husband, Worcester Police Patrolman Kurt Solomon, 57, a 31-year veteran of the department and father of two.
Kurt Solomon was found dead inside a home early Tuesday morning. Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier said at a news conference Friday that the warrant charges Karen Solomon with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with serious bodily injury. Saucier described her as armed and dangerous.
Saucier said Kurt Solomon's injuries came from a sharp object. Kurt Solomon's service weapon was not missing.
According to ABC News, surveillance cameras captured Karen Solomon walking on the street after the incident.
Search crews that included the police and U.S. Marshals Service suspended their fourth day of operations Friday evening. Saucier said crews used helicopters, divers, sonar, and dogs during a search of Coes Reservoir.
"We're still actively pursuing this area," Saucier told reporters Friday.
Several public areas near the reservoir, including parks, were closed indefinitely. Search crews planned to continue operations Saturday morning.
