Leah Remini is joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a full-time cast member for Season 16.
The actress and anti-Scientology activist joins a cast that includes Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Bozoma Saint John, Rachel Zoe, Sutton Stracke, and new cast member Tracy Tutor. Jennifer Tilly is also set to appear this season, but in a friend-of-the-cast role rather than as a full cast member.
According to The Wrap, filming on Season 16 is already underway, making Remini's addition a relatively late entry. She was set to begin filming this week.
Remini is not new to unscripted television. She starred in TLC's Leah Remini: It's All Relative, a docuseries that ran from 2014 to 2015 and followed her home life with her then-husband Angelo Pagán, daughter Sofia, and other family members. She also co-produced and co-hosted Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E, an Emmy-winning docuseries that ran for three seasons from 2016 to 2019. The show grew out of her public break from Scientology, which she detailed in her 2015 memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
That project earned her and her producing partners the Outstanding Informational Series or Special Emmy in both 2017 and 2020.
TMZ first reported Remini's casting on the show. A representative for NBCUniversal did not respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
