Pop group Katseye will not perform at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival this weekend in Irvine, California, after member Megan Skiendiel suffered a sprained ankle during tour rehearsal.
The group announced the withdrawal in a statement posted to Weverse. "We're so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday," they wrote. "Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour."
According to Rolling Stone, the group expressed deep disappointment over the missed appearance. "We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it's not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community," they said in the statement.
The group also addressed Rodrigo directly before closing out the update. "We're sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special," Katseye said. "It's going to be such an amazing day, and we can't wait to see everyone out on tour."
The inaugural edition of the festival is set to kick off Saturday, Aug. 29, and features an all-women lineup. Performers include Bikini Kill, Mitski, Doechii, Chappell Roan, Not for Radio, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold, and the Breeders. Stevie Nicks, Karen O, and Sarah McLachlan are listed as special guests. The festival sold out in 30 minutes.
All artists will perform for free. The event will benefit a number of women- and girls-focused nonprofit organizations, including Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, the Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeForm, Jhpiego, John Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, the National Women's Law Center, and Planned Parenthood.
