Juventus have suffered another injury blow just weeks into the new season, with Colombian defender Juan Cabal set to miss time after picking up an injury in training.

According to a report by Tuttosport, cited by Yahoo Sports, Cabal joins Kenan Yildiz, Jeff Ekhator, and Khephren Thuram on the club's growing list of sidelined players.

The timing is particularly difficult for Cabal. He nearly left the club on transfer deadline day, with Atalanta showing interest in signing him and Juventus already identifying a replacement. When Atalanta chose not to follow through, Cabal stayed at the club, but his situation under manager Luciano Spalletti had already been strained. Spalletti had reportedly backed the push to move Cabal on during the transfer window.

With his departure no longer on the table, Cabal would likely have been given some game time as the season developed, potentially giving him a path back into Spalletti's plans. That opportunity has now been delayed. His injury in training came at the worst possible moment for a player who needed to be available and making an impression.

Juventus have not confirmed the severity of the injury or a timeline for his return. The club's priority will be managing his recovery alongside the other fitness cases already troubling the squad. For Cabal, the focus will be returning to fitness quickly and taking whatever opportunities remain when he is back.
