The third season of Silo ended with a declaration of war, a revealed villain, and a star who says her character is terrified going into the final chapter.

The Season 3 finale, titled "Troy," is now streaming on Apple TV. It resolves a season-long mystery about who controls The Algorithm, the force that governs the silos and decides the fate of thousands of people living underground. The answer turns out to be Daniel Keene, played by Ashley Zukerman, a former congressman who survived the apocalypse and is periodically awakened from cryogenic sleep to suppress rebellions. By the time of the finale, he goes by the name Troy.

Juliette, played by Rebecca Ferguson, spends much of the season without her memories. She recovers them just in time to stop Daniel from pumping toxic gas into Silo 18, which houses nearly 10,000 residents. Her team manages to cap the safeguard pipe with milliseconds to spare.

The confrontation ends in a standoff. Daniel, speaking as an omnipresent voice through the tunnels connecting the silos, offers a truce, knowing that Juliette's group is trapped and running low on resources. Juliette accepts, knowing it almost certainly means nothing.

Ferguson told Variety that Juliette keeps her composure in that moment, but is not actually calm. "But I think she's shit scared!" she said. "Sometimes it's hard to come up with all the solutions because no one else is."

Series creator Graham Yost confirmed to Variety that the fourth and final season has already been shot. Apple TV released a teaser on Friday and announced the premiere date of July 9, 2027. The final season will pick up mere hours after the events of the Season 3 finale.

Yost and Ferguson also spoke about what the final season might explore, including the history of other failed silo rebellions and how much Juliette and her team actually know about the world they are fighting to survive. Those questions will drive the last stretch of the story.

Silo's first three seasons have built a dedicated audience around its central mystery of what lies outside the underground silos and who built them. The show is based on Hugh Howey's novel series. With the villain now identified and war declared, Season 4 will serve as the conclusion to that story when it arrives on Apple TV in July 2027.
