The New England Patriots will play eight themed home games at Gillette Stadium during the 2026 regular season, the organization announced via social media on Friday. The themes range from league-wide NFL campaigns to events with a distinctly New England identity.
The home schedule opens September 20 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Yahoo Sports. The Patriots open the regular season on the road the week before, traveling to Seattle to face the Seahawks. When they return to Foxborough in Week 2, the matchup with Pittsburgh will serve as the first themed game of the year.
Some of the themes follow NFL-wide campaigns such as Crucial Catch and Salute to Service. Others are built around Patriots history. Week 5 will feature a celebration of Pro Football Hall of Famer Adam Vinatieri when the Raiders come to Gillette Stadium. Week 9 will honor Patriots Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski during a home game against the Packers.
Both of those games also connect to team anniversaries. The organization will use each occasion to honor one of its Super Bowl-winning rosters. The Vinatieri game in Week 5 will also see the Patriots wear their red-and-white Pat Patriot throwback uniforms, one of two games this season scheduled for that alternate look.
The second throwback appearance comes in Week 14, a Thursday night home game against the Vikings. Just four days before that contest, the Patriots will host a designated Rivalry game against the Buffalo Bills. For that matchup, New England plans to bring back its Nor'Easter-themed alternate uniform, which the franchise first introduced last season. The Bills game could carry significant weight in the AFC East standings depending on where both teams sit heading into December.
The Patriots announced the full theme schedule through their official social media channels on September 4. No additional details about the Super Bowl team anniversary ceremonies or special ticket offerings were included in the announcement.
