Less than four weeks before the event, UFC 332 finally has a main event. The card takes place October 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it will be headlined by a fight for the now-vacant women's flyweight championship between Natalia Silva and Wang Cong.
The announcement came Saturday during the UFC Fight Night Paris broadcast, according to Yahoo Sports. The broadcast team revealed the full card and confirmed the main event, ending weeks of uncertainty around one of the bigger questions in mixed martial arts heading into the fall.
The title became vacant after Valentina Shevchenko was ruled out with an injury. Reports about a week ago suggested Shevchenko vs. Silva would headline the card. Days after those reports, Shevchenko's injury was leaked. The severity was not confirmed until Saturday, when it was revealed she could miss up to a year while recovering.
Silva and Cong present an interesting matchup stylistically. Both fighters build their games around forward pressure and high striking volume. Silva figures to be the more active striker, while Cong's technical precision is expected to be a key factor for her side. Neither fighter, however, carries the name recognition that typically drives large audiences to a numbered UFC event.
The card as a whole has drawn criticism for its depth. No other fight on the card carries serious implications at the top of a weight class. The event is expected to be the least-viewed numbered card in the Paramount+ era.
Rumors had circulated in recent weeks that Alex Pereira might fight Josh Hokit in the UFC 332 main event at heavyweight. That possibility has been ruled out. Pereira's coach, Glover Teixeira, had said publicly that Hokit is who he wants as Pereira's next opponent, after Hokit spent much of 2026 publicly taunting Pereira. The expectation now is that a Pereira vs. Hokit fight would serve as a co-main event at UFC 334, alongside a heavyweight title defense by champion Tom Aspinall against interim champion Ciryl Gane.
UFC 332 remains on the calendar for October 3 in Salt Lake City.
