Eleven people, including two children and four women, were killed in one strike that destroyed a residential building in Kfar Remman overnight, according to the ministry. The second strike hit a vehicle carrying paramedics from the Risala Scout Association, killing one of them and injuring two others, according to the ministry. The Israeli military said the Kfar Remman strikes were retaliation for two Hezbollah drone attacks and said it targeted a Hezbollah militant trying to transport weapons, while Hezbollah did not claim the drone attacks.
Israeli authorities say 40 Israeli soldiers and four civilians have been killed on both sides of the border during the conflict, according to the BBC.
The Israeli military also struck a residential area in the town of Deir al-Zahrani in southern Lebanon overnight after it issued a forced evacuation order, according to a report from Al Jazeera. There’s been a wave of Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours, with civilians being killed in the process.
Recovery efforts by civil defence workers are continuing, but they’ve been here throughout the night and it’s no longer a rescue operation.
Since the conflict escalated in early March, Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 4,350 people and wounded over 12,300, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. Though the US-brokered deal between Lebanon and Israel saw violence decrease, Israeli forces have continued razing villages in its so-called “security zone” in southern Lebanon. Carrying out air strikes both within the zone and to its north, mostly without forced evacuation orders, Israeli forces have continued their operations. The June framework called for Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon as Hezbollah was disarmed, but little progress has been made in implementing the agreement.
Local residents say the situation has become increasingly unpredictable and dangerous. The ongoing conflict has left many families displaced and unable to access basic services or safety.
Health workers continue their efforts despite the risks, working through the night to assist those injured in the attacks. The international community has expressed concern over the rising number of civilian casualties and the destruction of infrastructure.
