England midfielder Alex Scott has been forced to withdraw from the national squad due to an injury. The player had just made his full debut in a 7-0 victory over Croatia in the Nations League. Scott's performance was widely praised by team manager Thomas Tuchel after the match.

Tuchel described Scott’s play as confident and active, calling him a complete player. The injury occurred during the match and has now ruled him out of further participation. Scott plays for Bournemouth and reports say the thigh injury could keep him out for several weeks.

Bournemouth will now assess Scott as the midfielder begins his recovery from the injury. This withdrawal marks a setback for England’s preparations ahead of upcoming fixtures.

Scott is not the only England player to leave the squad. According to Reuters, Cole Palmer and Marcus Rashford were among five players who had already withdrawn alongside Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento. Manchester City defender Nico O'Reilly also returned to his club with an injury while Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has now left the England camp.

The Netherlands have also been hit hard with Brian Brobbey and Lutsharel Geertruida and Cody Gakpo and Jan Paul van Hecke all returning to their clubs because of injuries during the Nations League window.

France captain Kylian Mbappe returned to Real Madrid with a left knee injury while Spain forward Ferran Torres withdrew because of an ankle problem and Sweden striker Alexander Isak left his national squad with a minor injury.
