A claim that Chloe Bennet has been cast as Quake in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film is not supported by an official Marvel announcement or by current reporting from major entertainment trade publications.

Bennet is strongly associated with the character. She played Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, throughout all seven seasons of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from 2013 to 2020. The character began the series as the hacker Skye before learning her real identity and developing seismic powers.

What has changed recently is Bennet’s public willingness to return. In a September 2026 interview with ELLE, she was asked whether she would reprise Daisy Johnson if Marvel contacted her. Bennet answered, “Totally,” and said she remains deeply attached to the character.

That statement is very different from a casting announcement. Bennet did not say she had been hired for a Marvel film, and the interview did not identify an upcoming MCU movie involving Quake.

Rumors about a Bennet return have circulated for years. In May 2025, entertainment sites reported on a social media post from the scooper account MyTimeToShineHello that showed photos of Bennet and said, “She’s coming back.” The claim generated renewed speculation but was not accompanied by confirmation from Marvel Studios, Disney, Bennet or a major trade outlet.

Bennet has also denied similar rumors in the past. In a 2023 interview, she said she had not been approached about returning after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended and was not involved in any then-upcoming Marvel project. By 2026, her position remained that she would gladly return if asked.

Marvel’s current theatrical plans also do not provide evidence for the claim. The studio has announced major films including Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, Black Panther 3, Ghost Rider and an upcoming X-Men movie. Publicly announced casts for those projects have included numerous returning and new Marvel actors, but Bennet has not been announced as Quake.

The original article also says the unnamed Quake film is already in production, has a director with superhero experience and will feature established MCU heroes. None of those details could be verified. No confirmed title, director, production start, release date or supporting cast has been announced for a Quake movie starring Bennet.

There is one recent Marvel project that could help explain renewed fan speculation. Marvel Television announced a live-action spy thriller titled Zodiac for Disney+, with a planned 2028 release. The project’s logo and spy-focused premise have led to speculation about possible connections to S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Secret Warriors comics.

Daisy Johnson has important ties to the Secret Warriors in Marvel Comics. Marvel describes Quake as a leader associated with the team and a character capable of generating and controlling seismic activity. Those comic-book connections make her a natural subject for fan theories whenever Marvel announces a new espionage-focused project.

However, Zodiac is a television series, not the unnamed theatrical film described in the original claim. Marvel has not announced Bennet as part of its cast, and reporting about a possible Secret Warriors connection remains speculative.

The larger question of how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fits into current MCU continuity is also unresolved. The ABC series began with direct links to Marvel’s films and included characters such as Phil Coulson, Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Later Marvel Studios projects have not clearly established the entire series as part of the main MCU timeline.

Bennet addressed that uncertainty in her 2026 ELLE interview, saying she remains frustrated that the series is not fully acknowledged as canon. At the same time, she made clear that she would like another opportunity to play Daisy.

That combination — a popular character, an actor willing to return and new Marvel projects involving espionage — provides plenty of material for speculation. It does not establish that a deal has been signed.

Some details in the original article are also inaccurate or misleading beyond the casting claim. Quake was not previously adapted for a “short-lived television series.” Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ran for seven seasons and more than 100 episodes, with Bennet as one of its central cast members. The article also describes her move to film as a transition from a supporting role, even though Daisy Johnson became one of the show’s principal characters.

The safest version of the story is therefore much narrower: Bennet has publicly said she would return as Quake if Marvel asked, while unconfirmed rumors continue to suggest that a comeback could eventually happen.

For now, there is no verified announcement that Chloe Bennet has joined an upcoming MCU film as Quake. Until Marvel Studios, Disney, Bennet or a reliable entertainment trade confirms a specific project, claims of a film casting should be treated as rumor rather than established news.
