Harry Styles ended his 30-show Madison Square Garden residency on Saturday, October 31, 2026, by dressing as one of New York City's most recognizable internet sensations: Pizza Rat. The Halloween performance also featured a surprise appearance by New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson, who presented the singer with a commemorative banner celebrating his record-setting run at the arena.

The 32-year-old pop star took the stage wearing a furry brown rat costume complete with oversized pink ears, a long tail, black sunglasses and an enormous foam pizza slice. The outfit recreated a memorable scene from a 2015 viral video showing a rat dragging a slice of pizza down the stairs of a New York City subway station.

The performance brought Styles' 10-week Together, Together residency to a close. All 30 concerts sold out, extending his history with a venue where he previously performed 15 consecutive shows in 2022.

Harry Styles Brings Pizza Rat to Madison Square Garden

Styles embraced the Halloween theme during the final night of his residency, turning a familiar piece of New York internet culture into an elaborate stage costume. The oversized pizza slice and long rat tail immediately connected his appearance to the viral subway video.

His backing band and performers joined the celebration by dressing as recognizable New York City symbols. Their costumes included a yellow taxi and a hot dog, creating a playful tribute to the city that had hosted Styles for much of the fall.

The original Pizza Rat video became an internet sensation in September 2015. Filmed at a Manhattan subway station, it showed a small rat attempting to carry a slice of pizza down a staircase before eventually abandoning it.

The clip became a symbol of New York's unusual urban wildlife and its reputation for pizza. More than a decade later, the video's popularity made it an instantly recognizable choice for a Halloween concert at Madison Square Garden.

Styles even joked about the unusual outfit during the performance. According to USA Today, he acknowledged the absurdity of celebrating an important career achievement while dressed as a rodent.

The singer eventually changed out of the bulky costume as the concert continued. His Halloween appearance nevertheless became one of the defining images of his final New York performance.

Jalen Brunson Presents Styles With Commemorative Banner

The evening included a special appearance by Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks captain and 2026 NBA Finals MVP, who joined Styles onstage to celebrate the residency.

Brunson presented a commemorative banner recognizing Styles' 30 consecutive sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden. The banner was raised into the arena's rafters, giving the singer a lasting place among the venue's celebrated events and performers.

The moment connected two major parts of Madison Square Garden's identity: professional basketball and live entertainment. Brunson and Styles embraced as the audience applauded the presentation.

According to an official announcement from Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Brunson's appearance came less than two weeks after the arena raised a championship banner recognizing the Knicks' own achievement. The timing added another connection between the basketball team and the singer's record-setting residency.

The arena also introduced a new exhibit celebrating Styles' concerts. The "Defining Moments" display, located on the sixth-floor concourse, features memorabilia connected to his performances and is available for visitors attending events at Madison Square Garden.

The tribute recognized the scale of a residency that occupied the famous arena on a regular schedule throughout the fall. Styles performed on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, building a series of concerts around one of the country's most prominent entertainment venues.

A Surprise Talking Heads Cover Adds to Halloween Show

The costume was not the only surprise of the evening. Styles also performed "Psycho Killer" by Talking Heads, marking the first time he had covered the song during a live concert.

The choice provided another connection to New York's musical history. Talking Heads emerged from the city's music scene during the 1970s and became one of the most influential bands associated with new wave and alternative rock.

The performance added an unexpected song to a set built largely around Styles' solo catalog. Fans also heard familiar material such as "Watermelon Sugar," "As It Was" and "Sign of the Times."

The concert featured songs from his fourth solo studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., which was released on March 6, 2026. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and provided the foundation for the Together, Together tour.

Styles' final New York performance combined the music of his current era with several references to the city. The Talking Heads cover, Pizza Rat costume and Brunson appearance each contributed to the local theme.

Styles Celebrates Elvis and His X Factor Beginnings

The October 31 concert followed another Halloween-themed performance the previous evening. On Friday, October 30, Styles appeared in a costume inspired by Elvis Presley.

He wore a white, embellished jumpsuit with a cape and gold-trimmed sunglasses, recreating the distinctive stage fashion associated with the legendary rock singer. His backing band and dancers dressed as different versions of Styles from earlier stages of his career.

Later in the performance, Styles changed into clothing resembling what he wore during his 2010 audition for the British television competition The X Factor. The outfit included a gray cardigan, white shirt, yellow scarf and brown trousers, along with an audition number.

Styles then performed Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely," the same song he sang when he auditioned for the television program at age 16. He also repeated a comment about working in a bakery, recalling his teenage job before becoming internationally famous.

The moment revisited the beginning of a career that eventually led Styles to One Direction. The group was formed through The X Factor in 2010 and became one of the most successful boy bands of its generation.

The October 30 audience also included actress Riley Keough, Elvis Presley's granddaughter, who was seen enjoying the performance. The tribute gave the first Halloween concert a different theme from the New York-inspired finale.

Harryween Has Become a Styles Concert Tradition

The two concerts continued Styles' tradition of celebrating Halloween through special performances known as Harryween. The themed shows first appeared during his Love on Tour concerts in 2021.

At Madison Square Garden that year, Styles dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz for one performance. He followed that appearance with a Pierrot-inspired clown costume for another Halloween show.

In 2022, he dressed as Danny Zuko from Grease during a Halloween concert in Los Angeles. He also performed music associated with the film, adding another theatrical element to the celebration.

The 2026 shows followed the same approach while connecting more directly to Styles' career and New York City. Friday's costumes recalled his musical influences and early television appearance, while Saturday's outfit celebrated the city itself.

Together, Together Tour Continues Through 2027

Although Styles has completed his Madison Square Garden residency, the Together, Together tour is far from finished. He is scheduled to perform in Australia during November and December before returning for an expanded series of international concerts next year.

A 25-date extension announced in September will begin on April 2, 2027, in the Phoenix area. The North American schedule includes Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Atlanta and Chicago.

The European portion begins July 2 in Berlin, with additional performances scheduled in Paris, Madrid, Rome and Dublin. The announced extension ends with three concerts at London's Wembley Stadium on August 25, 27 and 28, 2027.

Sony Music confirmed that the additional performances support Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., continuing the international promotion of Styles' fourth solo album.

His next scheduled performances will take the production to new audiences, but the Madison Square Garden residency has already received a permanent tribute inside the arena. Fans attending future events can see memorabilia from the 30-show run, while the commemorative banner recognizes the Halloween night when Styles closed his New York residency dressed as Pizza Rat.
